Green-fingered guests can enjoy a personal tour of Lime Tree Lodge's extensive gardens and native flora.

Lodge Gardens

Lime Tree Lodge takes its name from the many 'tilea cordata' lime trees which are planted throughout the 10 acre property. Lodge host Rebecca Butts - an experienced landscape gardener who ran her own successful landscaping business for over 20 years - has re-planted extensively since she and co-host Sally Carwardine took over the property in 2004.

Over 50 roses surround the Lodge verandahs, complementing Rebecca's mixture of native grasses, camellias, rhododendrons, hostas, peonies and various perennials.

Six acres of lawn is dominated by Douglas firs, oaks, copper beech and assorted conifers, and provides the setting for the Lodge's five hole pitch-and-putt golf course.

Three acres of paddocks graze a flock of sheep (including pet lambs Rosie and Georgie), while a small olive grove and orchard and a large vegetable and herb garden supply fresh produce for the Lodge.

Green-fingered guests may enjoy a tour of the grounds with Rebecca, particularly those with an interest in combination planting of native flora with non-indigenous species.
