What To Do in Wanaka

Lake Wanaka is the gateway to Mt Aspiring National Park, one of the world's most spectacular alpine regions; trekking, fly fishing, golf, mountain biking, rock climbing or jet boating are all on the doorstep.

During the winter months, Wanaka is home to some of New Zealand 's best skiing and snowboarding. Enthusiasts from around the world flock to the three Wanaka ski-fields of Cardrona, Treble Cone and the Snow Farm-Park, all within 45 minutes drive of Lime Tree Lodge. For the less adventurous, some of New Zealand 's finest vineyards are just a short drive away and wine tours are available for those who don't wish to drive.

Every other autumn, the spectacular Wanaka air show 'Warbirds Over Wanaka' attracts thousands of spectators. On alternate years, the Southern Lakes Festival of Colour features a dynamic programme of arts, dance, theatre and music. The next Festival of Colour is scheduled for April / May 2009. For golf fans, a number of world-class courses are located within driving distance of Lime Tree Lodge.
