The Lodge’s four guestrooms are named after the superb range of rivers which flow through the World Heritage Wanaka region – Hawea, New Zealand’s shortest river – Mata-Au, the Maori name for the mighty Clutha, New Zealand’s largest volume river – the Makarora, known for its plentiful rainbow trout – and the ancient glacial-fed Matukituki river.

Each luxurious ensuite room has French doors leading to the Lodge grounds and feature its own furniture for that leisurely afternoon tea, complete with home-baking, or a glass of fine Central Otago wine as the sun sets behind the Southern Alps.

All guestrooms provide an ensuite with shower, heated tiled floors, hair-dryers, bath robes and slippers and cotton bed linen.

The Hawea and Mata-Au guestrooms feature king-sized beds and the Makarora and Matukituki guestrooms, super-king beds.  All beds can be converted to twin beds, if required.

Guests also have exclusive use of the stylish lounge and dining area, with its impressive open log schist fireplace.  Complimentary digital TV and book libraries, tea and coffee, fresh fruit, home-baking and sparkling mineral water are all on hand for guests to enjoy throughout their stay.
